FAQ

  • How can it benefit me?

Kinesiology can benefit clients in a multitude of different ways. A client will come with one or more issues for us to work on, whether physical pain or emotional distress, issues with relationships or even a lack of motivation or lack of direction. Through the session, we release energy blocks, tension and emotions from the body, which then allows it to relax and start to regulate. When the body relaxes and lets go of stress, it is able to function in a more coherent way. For example, we may work on an emotional trauma from an accident years ago. Once it has been released, the client’s shoulder, which has had a limited range of motion, can now move more easily. We work with grief over a relationship ending a decade ago, and the client feels lighter and that they can breathe more deeply. Everything is connected body, mind and spirit. The benefits of kinesiology are never ending as we are guided to the root causes of the issue at hand.

  • How does it work?

I use muscle testing to access a client's biofeedback system to help identify stressors and blockages in the body.

I first gain access to the body and then ask questions and test the client’s muscles to get a feel for where we need to go next. When the muscle feels strong that is a ‘yes’ and when it is weak that means it’s a ‘no’ or there is a stress we need to look further into.

Once we have worked out the direction we need to go, I use different techniques to balance the body including cranial techniques, brain integration, lymphatic points, acupressure points, muscle and facia techniques, postural, massage, flower essences, colour torch, other vibrational remedies, tuning forks and essential oils.

  • I think my partner would really love this work. Can I book them in?

Please make sure you ask your partner if they would like a session before you book them in. If they say no then respect the answer, even if you’ve had a wonderful session and think they can benefit too. Partners/members of family who agree to sessions to please others can either really love the session or feel like they have been hijacked into an experience they feel very uncomfortable about. This can lead to resentment and shutting down, especially if they expect the treatment to be very passive. If they say yes then I’ll look forward to meeting them.

  • What exactly is kinesiology?

Applied kinesiology is a modality that uses muscle testing to gain access to the subconscious. I can basically communicate with your body/subconscious/higher self to ask what it wants to be able to move forward in the best direction for the client.

  • Can I bring my child to see you?

Yes, children can respond really well to kinesiology. If they are 14 or under then the parent or guardian is required to stay in the room. Depending on the age, we may make it a shorter session. This will be discussed prior to the session.

  • Why do I cry during the sessions?

Crying is an energetic release. The body releases stress in many ways and one of them is through crying. It may also mean you have connected to the issue the body wants us to work on. During past sessions, clients have gone back to a time in the past where they are surprised as they think that event had already been “dealt with” or “happened when I was 7 and it seems like nothing now”. If the client feels a wave of emotions or cries, it is a sign that the body was still holding tension over the event.

  • How many times do I need a session?

If the client only can afford or have time for one or two sessions then that is great, they will still gain awareness and support. However, if asked, I usually recommend three sessions.

    Why?

Even though many clients will feel lighter and feel benefits after having one session with three sessions we are able to chart your progress and clients have noticed bigger shifts with their issues.  It may have taken decades for the symptoms to show up in your body. Healing is a journey, and the three sessions will give us more of a picture and direction of where we need to address and balance, to give you the greatest support and outcomes.

  • Why does my body shake during our sessions?

Different clients’ bodies can respond to the sessions in different ways. Sometimes the body will start to shake, this can also be called ‘tremoring’. This is the body’s way of releasing stress that has been stuck. When you watch a wildlife documentary of something being chased by a lion, if it manages to escape, you’ll see the muscles tremor. This is the body balancing itself from the stress of running for its life. When we have a stressful event, much of the time we will be stationary, we’ll sit down and not move. the stress, therefore, is unable to move through and be processed by the body. Shaking/tremoring is a natural response.

  • I read on the internet that you diagnose illnesses, is this right?

No, I never diagnose illnesses. If you’re looking for a diagnosis, please visit your GP. There is a lot of misinformation regarding kinesiology on the internet. The best way to find out if it may help you is to talk to someone who has already had a session or for you to experience it first-hand.

  • Will my body tell you things I don't want it to?

Yes, and no. You don’t have to tell me anything, even if the body is indicating it wants you to bring up a certain event. If it’s information you’re uncomfortable sharing, then it will not be shared. Your body does not ‘betray’ you during a session. Only the information that relates to the issues we are working on will surface and it is up to you whether you want to talk about it or not.
